Blues Legends, Beverly "Guitar" Watkins and The King Bees brought the house down in an epic performance in Macon, GA

Andrea
She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellow'd to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o'er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent! - Lord Byron

Mario, The Green Ranger
A few weeks ago, a friend of mine showed me a meme of a guy riding around on a motorcycle in a green ranger costume. As it turns out, Mario, the Green Ranger guy, is her neighbor. I contacted him, and we hit it off instantly. He's so much fun to work with.
2017
Emily Lynch
2017
Amber
Behind her demure smirk lies a powerful, passionate person, who is fiercely defensive of her friends and loved ones. Once you get to know her, it's pretty easy to see why she's such a captivating subject and such a joy to be around.
2017
Nathan Angelo
Nathan has been on of my favorite singer-songwriters for the better part of a decade. He writes songs that are often deep and introspective but also fun to dance to. He's also an excellent performer to boot. If you ever get to see him live, then pay attention to his mannerisms because when his head leans to the right while his body goes left, that's when you know some magic is about to happen.
2017
Jenny
The thing about Jenny is that she is as cute as she is fierce. When she's passionate about something, it shows in every fiber of her being. It's probably the thing that makes her smile so darn infectious!
2017
Nick
Nick is easily one of my most favorite people to photograph. He's always fun and he's charismatic in a way that instantly puts you at ease. I'm definitely looking forward to our next shoot.
2017
Alan Z
Skill is a tricky thing. It's hard to fake, hard to grasp, and hard to master. But if you really want to know what it takes, Alan Z is the man to ask. When you talk to him, you get a sense for how long he's working to hone his craft both as a writer and a performer. Now with the release of his single, Distance, it seems that all that work is starting to pay off.
2017
Love
Love comes in so many different forms. Maybe that's why the Greeks had so many different words for it. In its name, we build monuments, we sing songs, we fight wars, we raise families. When it comes down to it, everything comes down to love.
2017
Joseph
People who command respect without demanding it are increasingly rare. That's one of the many things that makes Joseph such an wonderful person. He's incredibly witty and equally kind. His presence is unforced, but it's definitely bold, as his beloved trinity knot will attest.
2017
Francine
Francine and I have been talking about working together for a comically long time. Someway, somehow, something always got in the way but at long last, it finally happened. When we started planning this shoot we were originally going to do something totally different, but we eventually settled on doing something more inspired by pinup style.
2016
Maya
The first you notice about Maya is her smile. It immediately lets you know that she's a very kind person who cares very deeply about those around her. That endless well of love and compassion is clearly evident in the relationship she has with her dog Bentley.
2016
Nettie
You can tell a lot about a person by the way they dance. I first met Nettie a few years ago at a Blues Dance that a friend of ours was hosting. She moves very powerfully and very delicately at the same time. She's not shy about taking on creative risks and challenges. As a result, she fills the room with joy whenever she walks in.
2016
Vegas
It's hard to put the experience of Vegas into words. There's so much to see and do there that you can easily get overwhelmed by it all. Compared almost any other place I've been, the city feels otherworldly both in its charms and its vices.
2016
Floco Torres
Floco is an interesting dude. He is lyrically brilliant with a commanding stage presence. That combination is hard to find and hard to fake. His style comes across very influenced by East Coast Hip-hop mixed with southern charm and that puts him on the cutting edge of magnificent. If you ever get the chance, you should definitely meet the man, the legend, Floco Torres.
2016
Louise
I met Louise during a songwriting workshop that she was hosting. We instantly bonded over our love music and the process of putting a song together. Her voice is as warm as her smile and her music comes across as soft and unforced like a gentle breeze.
2016
Ryan
The first thing you notice about Ryan is his smile. It's simply infectious. I first met him a few years ago, back when he was college student finding his voice as a poet. Since that time, he's become an award winning poet and a mentor to young people trying to find their voice and pursue their passion. His charm and his wit light up every room he's in. I'm excited to see where his poetry will take him next.
2016
DeMarcus
DeMarcus is the kind of guy whose reputation precedes him. In the last few months, he has really garnered praise for helping to organize events that foster some much needed dialogue among members of the community. He's both brilliant and charismatic. Despite the extreme levels of shyness that he claims to have, he is also quite obviously at ease with himself and his surroundings.
2016
Lost Keys Literary Festival
I was hired to be one of the photographers for the Lost Keys Literary Festival here in Macon GA. It was a fun weekend filled with music, poetry, and writing workshops.
2016
Dog Day Afternoon
I spent an afternoon in local dog park, hanging with some four legged friends. It's nice to just watch them at play.

It Hurts When It Rains
Deep tranquility Is its own insanity When I don't feel you near Deep tranquility Is the latest misery When I don't hear your voice The pictures on my wall remind me of what we had I lie awake at night wishing it could be I always thought these memories were gonna last But now they all float away Safe to say to say, it hurts when it rains
2016
This Old Town
Street Photography is tricky exercise. On the one hand, it requires a lot of skill and focus but it can also be fun and whimsical. That's what I enjoy about it but learning to bring it all together is something that I am not very well practiced in. So this past weekend, I got together with a group fellow photographers to go on a walking tour of downtown Macon, GA and really try to hone my craft.
2016
Mieka Pauley
She has a voice that will haunt your soul right from the very first syllable. I cannot begin to explain what went on in my mind the first time I heard wreck. This concert was so much fun. If you ever get a chance, you need to see her live.

Is There A Doctor In The House
I come from a family of physicians. This summer was particularly special because my brother and my sister graduated medical school within weeks of each other. I was fortunate enough to graduate last year. It's been a huge blessing to know that we surmounted such an exceptionally difficult challenge. Here's to many more accomplishments!!
2016
Ekiti
Shots taken during some mornings going around my home state of Ekiti in Nigeria. I was actually surprised when I came across those thatch huts. I grew up in Ado and I had never seen them before. Everyone I knew lived in concrete houses.
2016
Lagos Nights
Lagos is a vibrant city full of interesting people. You never know who you'll run into. Between old friends and new ones, there's always a good time to be had.
2016
Deli's Cafe, Lagos
Deli's Cafe is a relatively new spot in Victoria Island, Lagos. My friends and I decided to meet up there for brunch one Sunday Afternoon. It seemed to be quite the popular spot. The place was packed when my brother and I first arrived. After my first bite of their roast beef sandwhich, I soon figured out why.
2016
Ibukun
Ibukun is one of my oldest friends on the planet. We hadn't seen each other in years because she moved back to Nigeria. So while I was in the country on a recent trip, I knew I had to see her. We met up for brunch out in the Victoria Island, which resulted in this impromptu photoshoot.
2016
Mikayla
"I love the pretty dresses," she says, as she describes why she first got interested in modeling. With a curious British accent and a love of Panda bears, Mikayla is ball of energy and absolute delight to work with.
2016
Nick
Nick and I have known each other for only a few years, but honestly it feels like forever. I literally don't how we met, but it likely had a lot to do with blues dancing. He comes across as a modern representation of a classic southern gentleman and that's what I sought to capture in this set.
2016
Anna
Anna and I have been talking about working together for at least a year. We finally made it happen, just in time for the new year. Anna is a woman of modern sensibilities and a vintage aesthetic. That's something we wanted to explore, both in terms of the look and the feel of the collection.
2016
Jingle Jam 2015
Of all the photo sets that I have done this year, this one is the most dear to me. Aside from the fact that it featured some of my favorite artists, it was also my friend Lily's last concert before moving back to Texas. She was there with me for just about every concert that I went to this year and it's sad to think that this was the last one for a while. Lily, I wish you nothing but immense happiness back in Texas. I look forward to the next concert we go to. Sincerely, - Tola

Chinua Hawk ft. Thee Acquainted (Live At Eddie's Attic)
Chinua Hawk has been one of my favorite performers for almost a decade. In addition to being an incredibly talented musician, I've always found him to be a genuinely kind and humble person. Watching him and special guests Thee Acquainted perform at one of my favorite venues was a delight beyond measure. I look forward to hearing more music from them in the future.

AWA One Piece Photoshoot
I'm a huge fan of anime, so it was a great pleasure to be get to shoot some of my friends dressed up as their favorite characters from this show called One Piece. It's one of the longest running Anime series ever. By and large, it was a really fun and altogether daunting shoot. Special thanks to Cullen and her team for putting it all together.
2015
National Corvette Museum
My mom, my sister and I went out to Bowling Green, Kentucky for family friend's birthday party. While we were in town, my sister and I went exploring. That's how we ended up at the National Corvette Museum. If you ever find yourself in Bowling Green, Kentucky, you should definitely check the place out.

Eat Your Kimchi Tour - Atlanta 2015
Simon and Martina are a Canadian couple, currently living in South Korea. They created the YouTube channel Eat Your Kimchi to document their adventures and observations as foreigners living in South Korea. In the few years, that I have been watching the channel, Eat Your Kimchi has become one of my all-time favorite YouTube channels. The EYK crew are some of the goofiest and most thoughtful people I've seen on the internet. As part of their North America tour, they came to Atlanta. I ran into Simon and Martina before the show and they were gracious enough to let me photograph the event.
2015
Brooke
I was rummaging through some old photos and I came across this set that I took of my friend Brooke, during the 2013 Miss Black and Gold Pageant at Georgia State University. I was quite surprised by how the photos turned out. I wasn't expecting them to be anywhere near as good as they turned out.
2015
An Afternoon In the Park with Elly and Eli
My sister came to town to visit over the weekend so we went out to the park with the kids. It was beautiful out and I had my camera, so turned the day into a photoshoot.

From Cambodia With Love
My brother just got back from Cambodia. He spent a lot of time in Angkor Wat and from his trip, he brought a few artisanal sculptures back from his trip. I took the opportunity to experiment with macro functions on my Tamron 70 - 300 Lens back in January. Overall, I'm pleased with results but I might need to experiment more with the Jade Singha to figure out how to remove some of the glare.
2015
Sunset at Emory
A few weeks ago, I got to watch one of the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever seen. My friend Lily (aka my concert buddy) took me up to part of the Rollins buildings that I had never seen before. It's a balcony on the back end of the building from which you can see that Atlanta Skyline in the distance. I decided to use the opportunity to experiment with HDR photography. I had never done this style of photography before, so instead of having the camera bracket off the shots automatically, I ended up doing it manually using the bulb feature on my Nikon. For a complete novice at this style of photography, I think I did alright.
2015
Percy Sledge
I just got news that Percy Sledge died. He was one of the greats. I was fortunate enough to have taken pictures of his last concert in Macon, GA. Early in his career, Percy did a lot of work with other music greats from Macon, GA, especially Otis Redding. This is my little way of honoring him.
2015
Amerigo Gazaway
My friend, DJ Amerigo Gazaway, famous for his mixes Fela Soul, Yasiin Gaye, and founder of the SoulMates Project was on tour back in late 2013. He happened to be stopping through my hometown of Macon, GA. While he was in town, he was gracious enough to let me take photos of him doing his thing. You can check out More of his music at http://amerigomusic.com/
2015
Noel Stephen and the Darlings
A few years back, my buddy Noel and his band (Noel Stephen and the Darlings) came to Macon, GA to do a show at the 567. Noel was gracious enough to let me photograph their set. I've been sitting on these photos since then, but I finally got around to cleaning them up a little.
